Amy Young

Amy Young is an Urban and Regional Planning Masters candidate at the University of California, Los Angeles, who studies affordable housing and homelessness in support of community-based solutions to housing stability. Amy believes in leveraging public resources and strengthening civic institutions in favor of these solutions, pursuing these efforts in academic, non-profit, and public sectors. Amy has worked throughout the Bay Area and Los Angeles in efforts to understand the opportunities and challenges faced by the state in addressing its current housing crisis. In the Bay Area, Amy worked with the Terner Center for Housing Innovation, at the University of California, Berkeley, as well as, with Hamilton Families, a regional non-profit addressing family homelessness. In Los Angeles, Amy works to develop affordable and permanent supportive housing on city-owned land, as a part of the City of Los Angeles’ Housing and Community Investment Department. Amy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from the University of California, Berkeley with highest honors.
