Ayşegül Can

Ayşegül Can is a lecturer at Istanbul Medeniyet University in Turkey and a visiting postdoctoral scholar at the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Foundation. She received her PhD in urban studies from the University of Sheffield. Her research interests include gentrification, housing policy, urban resistance movements, social injustice in marginalized areas, and precariousness in higher education. Her latest project is called Housing Crisis in a time of Democratic Backsliding, and she is part of the authoritarian urbanism research cluster at the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Foundation.
